We are seeking a skilled, driven, committed and passionate person to work as our Philanthropy Director within our International Headquarters Office in Burnaby, BC. We are looking for someone who desires to use their skills to make a difference and resonates with Ratanak International’s vision, mission and values in serving Cambodia.
Role Description:
Reporting to and working closely with the Executive Director, the Philanthropy Director is responsible for advancing Ratanak International’s mission and vision by overseeing strategic fundraising, marketing, communications and donor engagement efforts. This individual will lead and inspire a high-performing team to drive philanthropic growth, foster meaningful relationships with donors and enhance the organization’s brand and public presence.
The Philanthropy Director is responsible for developing and implementing fundraising and donor engagement strategies for corporate, institutional and church donors that achieve annual revenue goals and long-term sustainability, event and project planning and management, create and execute an annual communication and marketing strategy ensuring consistent branding, ethical storytelling, messaging and public relations, ensure efficient donation processing, tax receipts and acknowledgement, give strategic direction and approval of content for digital / social platforms, newsletters and press releases, and develop policies and protocols. This role supervises a small Development and Communications Department.
Qualifications:
As an applicant, you have a university degree, vocational diploma or certificate in business, marketing, fundraising or related discipline. Certified Fund Raising Executive CFRE certification is an asset. You also have 5 years of leadership experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, or marketing, with a proven track record of success in major donor cultivation and stewardship. You also have a strong knowledge of fundraising, communication and marketing, and grant writing principles, ethics, promising practices, and techniques.
You understand the ins-and-outs of charities or not-for-profit organizations and have a heart for helping people around the world. You are an efficient and organized person who can manage multiple projects or tasks and can meet various deadlines. You are comfortable with public speaking, organizing fundraising events and give funding appeals. You are also comfortable to work and lead in a faith-based environment and as an active part of a small, collaborative and fun-loving team.
Scheduling and Remuneration:
This is a full-time position (5-days per week, 40 hours per week), commencing July 2025. The gross salary range for this position is $88,865 – $93,752 per year (depending on education and experience) based on a workweek of 40 hours per week with access to a comprehensive group benefits package and an RRSP match. Candidates must be comfortable with travel throughout the Greater Vancouver Area with periodic international travel for work purposes. Currently, our staff work at our Burnaby office two days per week with the rest of the week being remote.
