Prayer is not just a nice spiritual appendage attached to the ministry of Ratanak International. Prayer is central in our work. We have always maintained that this is a work of Jesus Christ and that he ultimately runs Ratanak International. It is he who guides us and he who gives us the opportunities to assist lives lived in desperation.
It is Christ that changes lives, brings hope and ministers to the hurting. We simply participate in his plan. We have a responsibility to serve as best we can, turning all our skills and talents to serving Cambodia, but we are simply the workers. The changing of lives is not about us - that is Christ's work.
So if we are to serve him we need to be in communication with him, following his lead, being refreshed by him when exhausted, pleading for the lives we encounter and giving him all the thanks and praise when doors open and we know success.
Local Prayer Groups
To that end we are always interested in people who want to pray for us and for Cambodia. Several prayer groups have started. Weekly Video Updates
Almost every week, a new "Update from Brian" video is posted on the website. These short videos are meant to help keep you informed about the new developments and prayer needs of Ratanak International between the quarterly newsletters and serve as weekly prayer points as well. You can find these videos on the Home Page if you click on the Update from Brian tab.
Facebook Group
We often post urgent prayer requests on our Facebook group, noting that we don't disclose sensitive information such as names and locations so that we can continue to consider the safety of those we are caring for. Our Commitment to You
Third World relief and development needs to be accountable and effective. Ratanak International works very hard to find and develop the very best programs to serve the people of Cambodia. These are funded and carefully monitored for their duration with frequent visits by Brian McConaghy (Director), or other Ratanak International staff and representatives, who then report back via real time blogs, the website and quarterly newsletter. We make every effort to bring the cause and effect, (your donation and its direct impact on lives in Cambodia) close together so that you have a clear sense of partnering with us in this ministry.
We do not seek only donors; we seek to have you be our partner. This involves sharing the challenges, stresses, frustrations and, at times, disappointments of working in the complex environment that is Cambodia. But in knowing, really knowing, our work and struggles you can also more fully appreciate and partner with us in the joy and excitement as compassion is shown, hopes are reborn and lives changed - real lives that you have come to know and love.
Our Communication with You
We believe it is very important that you, our partners, understand how your money is put to use. Ratanak International will ensure that you receive a regular quarterly newsletter that will keep you fully informed, both for your encouragement and to provide information for prayer.
In addition we have a Facebook Group called "Ratanak International" where interesting links, prayer updates etc. are regularly posted. A short video update is uploaded every week.

Ratanak International is a federally incorporated registered charity in Canada and issues Canadian tax receipts. Our charitable registration number is 894452796RR0001.
Ratanak US
We are in partnership with the Elijah Foundation of Chicago. They issue US tax receipts on our behalf. See the US donation link for more information.

Ratanak UK is fully incorporated in the UK and is a registered charity with the UK Charities Commission (Number 1135338). We are in a position to take advantage of Gift Aid for all donations.
